June Newsletter 2024

Teri Ann Cox
Executive Director of The Children’s Center

Dear Center Families,

An important annual fundraiser for us that occurs this month is the NH Gives campaign. Hosted by the NH Center for Nonprofits, this organized online platform brings together tens of thousands of donors to raise as much money and awareness as possible for the non-profits that give so much to their communities in New Hampshire every day. This year’s campaign occurs on June 11th and 12th and once again, the Fiske Family Foundation has pledged to match up to $5,000 in donations given to The Children’s Center. Every dollar given will be doubled, resulting in the hope that we can raise at least $10,000 in this short 24-hour window.

Please help the Center in this fundraising effort by sharing our posts about the event on social media. If you are not on Facebook or Instagram, you can also share the link https://www.nhgives.org/organizations/wolfeboro-area-children-s-center with friends and family via email or text.

The monies raised this year will go towards the winning staff vote for installing a Formula One Road Course Trike Path for our preschool playground. The 5’ wide oblong path is ADA compliant and designed for active gross motor play and cognitive enhancement through imaginative play with its traffic signs. We look forward to engaging our friends and families in helping us raise enough money to make this new addition happen, just like we successfully accomplished last year with the Eagle Scout Turf Project that Ethan Huffman installed.

Finally, June is also known as the month for Dads and Grads, and we certainly do commemorate preschool graduation for those heading off to kindergarten! This year, the Dragonflies will graduate on Wednesday, June 12th, the Playful Penguins will have their ceremony on Friday, June 14th, and our Magic Moments preschoolers will celebrate on Tuesday, June 18th. For those of you recognizing this special milestone with your child, I know it can be one filled with emotion. I still clearly remember my son wearing his red cap and proudly accepting his scroll when he “graduated” from Union Hill Day School in Kansas City fifteen years ago. Enjoy these sweet moments!

And for all our dads out there, all the best on Father’s Day, June 16th.

Sincerely,

Teri Ann
