Morrill Retires
After 30 years of being with us, it is with gracious hearts that we announce the upcoming retirement of Miss Paula Morrill from her Gingerbear teaching position at The Children's Center. We invite all current and alumni children and their families, current and former coworkers, and friends Friday, August 28, from 6 to 7 p.m. (rain or shine) as we honor her with a drive-thru celebration at the Center so that we all can extend our well wishes.
Most of you recognize the seasonally-changing Gingerbear in our upstairs hallway and everyone knows Miss Paula who has been the lead teacher of the Gingerbears room for almost 30 years. Paula has been a mentor through the years for many Center teachers and has touched the lives of countless children in her work. Along with her hallway Gingerbear, Miss Paula's room is also known for her beloved guinea pigs, Pandabear and Butterbear and for her creative weekly themes that inspire the children daily. Paula is steadfast in her experience and has been known to zip past on a sled during winter play or down on the floor with her 3-year-olds investigating science. She runs her classroom by building community routine, yet always finds time to notice and encourage each child as an individual.
She will continue to be a substitute teacher so some families may continue to see her. With Miss Paula's retirement will also come the retirement of the room name, Gingerbears.
